BBPilates + Physio is run by physiotherapist and womenʼs health specialist Becky Dyer. BBPilates offers Prenatal Pilates mat, Pilates mat and Reformer classes, Mums and bubs fitness classes and Men’s Pilates. Women and Men in all stages of life can enjoy the benefits of performing Pilates. Pilates is one of the most effective forms of exercise to change body shape and strengthen because it targets the core abdominal muscles.

BBPilates + Physiotherapy offers physiotherapy to women, men and children. We specialise in the treatment of pregnant and postnatal women, pelvic floor issues, neck, back and sacroiliac pain. Unlike other physio practices, at BBPilates you will have 1 on 1 hands-on treatment for your entire treatment. We want to spend time with you independently treating you with manual techniques including; myofascial release, joint mobilisation, muscle energy techniques, visceral manipulation, dry needling, ultrasound and massage.

BBPilates + Physio is conveniently located in Normanhurst near Wahroonga, Warawee, Hornsby, Thornleigh and Pennant Hills. Itʼs near the SAN Hospital in Wahroonga and has a strong affiliation with several of the SANʼs practicing obstetricians.

Becky Dyer

Physiotherapist, Pilates Mat and Pilates Reformer Instructor

becky-bioBecky Dyer is a physiotherapist and mother of two. Becky specialises in the treatment of pregnant and postnatal women addressing their symptoms with hands-on physiotherapy treatment and Pilates based exercise. Becky also specialises in Visceral Manipulation to address musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction that has not responded to traditional physiotherapy manual techniques. She has worked in hospital and private practice settings treating postpartum women addressing pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, spinal pain, and pelvic instability. Becky has also worked in a busy sports physiotherapy practice treating injured athletes.  She is an experienced instructor of women in pregnancy exercise, hydrotherapy, pre and postnatal Pilates.

Inspired by her patients, Becky started her own exercise classes that focus on pregnancy and post-natal fitness. Her classes are a combination of Pilates based exercise, core stability, cardio, pelvic floor exercise and have a strong emphasis on education in women’s health issues. Becky is a Certified Studio Pilates instructor in Pilates Mat and Reformer instruction.  Becky is also the creator and co-founder of Body Beyond Birth, an online Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates Program endorsed by obstetricians and Ramsay Maternity Hospitals.

Davina Gill

Studio Manager Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructor

Davina came to Pilates from a dance background. After moving from the country to follow her passion for dance she embarked upon a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at the University of Western Sydney. To improve her dance technique Davina began to do Pilates classes and fell in love with the discipline. She began training as an instructor in 2000 and became an APMA certified instructor, proficient in matwork, reformer, trapeze table, wunda chair and small apparatus.

In 2005 Davina completed a pre and post natal certification course through the Centre for Women’s Fitness. Davina is experienced in Pilates instruction for people with disabilities, orthopaedic injuries and during pregnancy. Davina loves sharing her knowledge about anatomy and movement and her passion is helping people learn to take care of their own bodies through exercise.

Denise Pivetta

Physiotherapist and Pilates Reformer Instructor

Denise-bioDenise graduated from Sydney University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. She has worked as a physiotherapist in both public and private settings, treating a variety of musculoskeletal problems and teaching exercise classes and pre-natal education. She has developed a keen interest and expertise in the area of women’s health, and especially enjoys working with women during pregnancy and beyond. She has a holistic approach to treatment and believes in educating women to understand their bodies in order to restore normal biomechanical movement and strength.

During her own pregnancies, Denise experienced the amazing benefits of core strengthening and Pilates exercise and incorporates these disciplines into her treatment. As well as physiotherapy, Denise is passionate about running (preferably by the beach), reading, cooking, church, friends and enjoying the outdoors with her husband and 3 energetic children.

Zoe Brown

Pilates Mat & Reformer Instructor, Booty Barre Instructor

Zoe-bioZoe Brown is a university trained dance teacher and a Yoga Practitioner with extensive experience guiding people within their yoga practice. After working as a professional dancer in London for Internationally acclaimed CandoCo Dance Company and using Ashtanga Yoga as a fundamental part of her training she returned to Australia to train and teach at Tiaki Pilates and Yoga Studio, recently rebranded as Quro Health Studios.

Zoe studied Pilates over 12 years ago before everyone else knew that it was the best thing since sliced bread! She’s an experienced Pilates mat instructor and Pilates Reformer instructor. Zoe is also a certified Booty Barre instructor.

Zoe has been leading participants in a 60min open level Ashtanga based yoga class including a focus on Pranayama (breathing exercises), simple flowing sequences, postural alignment & relaxation. Zoe has instructed Pilates and yoga to a wide variety of people including sports professionals, pregnant women, Mums & bubs and everyone else in between.

Zoe is a certified Pilates mat instructor and certified Pilates Reformer instructor for BBPilates.

Kriena Thorp

Pilates Mat & Reformer Instructor

Kriena-bioKriena is a trained dancer who studies Physical Theatre and Acrobalance at University. She has also studied jazz, ballet and contemporary dance. Kriena is a trained Ki Yoga instructor. Ki yoga is a restorative yoga based on the treatment of the body’s meridians.

Kriena is a trained Pilates mat and Reformer instructor. Kriena loves seeing people transform and connect their minds and bodies through Pilates and feels passionate about teaching patients tools to have a strong body to benefit them at all ages. Kriena’s philosophy is that Pilates and yoga practice for life will create core body strength at all ages. Kriena says that she “Loves finding the joy in exercise and awakening the body”.

Kriena is a mother of 3 who practiced Pilates throughout her pregnancies. She now carries her knowledge of exercise during pregnancy and beyond to BB Pilates.

Catherine Qassis

Pilates Mat & Reformer Instructor

Catherine is a trained Pilates mat, studio Pilates and Reformer instructor. She’s also an American that has fallen in love with Sydney and is here to stay.

Catherine is a mother of 1 and did her first Pilates class during her pregnancy. She knows what it’s like to have pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy and felt the amazing benefits of physiotherapy and Pilates first-hand!  She’s passionate about teaching postnatal women the correct exercises to treat their own back pain and abdominal separations.

She loves teasing out each patient’s medical history to develop class programs suited to the individual and their body.

Kim Hellams

Pilates Mat & Booty Barre Instructor

Kim has been working in both the dance and fitness industry her entire career.  Trained in Royal Academy of Dance classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, her love of dance and the arts led her to New York City whee she studied at the Martha Graham Contemporary Dance School.

In 2010 Kim obtained her Core Integration Comprehensive Pilates Mat Certification with the Kane School leading her to work at New York Sports Med and Physical Therapy as a Pilates instructor and exercise trainer assisting with the rehabilitation of patients.

Returning to Sydney, Kim completed a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise and Sports Science at ACU.  In addition, Kim has continued her professional development studies gaining certificates in Pregnancy and Exercise, Pilates for the hyper-mobile and a Cert IV in Fitness.  Kim has developed interest in the are of dance medicine and science, as well as working with the general population in promoting health and appreciation for the importance of exercise to maintain optimum health and functional movement capacity.
