What on earth is a “Reformer”?

A Pilates Reformer is Joseph Pilates’ original form of Pilates using a piece of equipment  that requires the body to work against the resistance of springs whilst moving a platform that slides along runners. You use the Reformerʼs straps in your hands or on your feet to move the platform against the resistance of the springs. You can exercise on your back, seated on a box, in standing, kneeling or sidelying. Reformers simply put most other exercise equipment to shame as they are so functional and versatile!  The Reformer suits everyone from a gym junkie to a Pilates virgin because the resistance and exercise difficulty is tailored to each patient.  Reformer classes are suitable in pregnancy, if you have a history of injury, or a disability.

What type of Reformers does BBPilates+Physio use?

We use the newest Stott Pilates reformer, the Allegro 2
